What is frenulum clitoris?

The frenulum clitoris is a small band of tissue that connects the clitoral hood to the clitoral glans. It is located at the front of the vulva, just above the vaginal opening. During sexual stimulation, the frenulum clitoris is highly sensitive and can contribute to sexual pleasure and orgasm in some individuals. However, in some cases, the frenulum clitoris may be too tight or may tear during sexual activity, causing pain or discomfort. In rare cases, a condition called frenulum breve may occur, where the frenulum is attached too tightly and causes pain or difficulty with sexual activity. Treatment for frenulum breve may involve a minor surgery to release or lengthen the frenulum.
